This represents the fact that we see talent all over the world. We collaborate with local creative talent, suppliers and manufacturers and together co-design quality sneakers.
SYOU stands for iSEEYOU, representing the fact that we see talent all over the world. We would be nothing without a strong and sustainable relationship with local creatives and manufacturers. Thanks to skillful graphic designers, copywriters, illustrators and other artists, we can create the entire story around the product and country’s culture in true harmony. It's a genuine partnership which we call co-design.
Every contributor is paid fairly for his or her work and we approach the entire value chain in an ethical way. This is our way of stimulating the nation’s economy.
We call this positive country branding. At SYOU we emphasize uplifting, inspiring stories and look to the future. Everyone is equal. It doesn’t matter where you come from. We embrace the positive and look for opportunities and possibilities. And we find them everywhere we go.
In our own way, we are trying to make something great by applying the co-design principle to the very core of what we do. We try our best to use ecological, organic and recycled material whenever possible. We know we can’t change the world, but, in our own small way, we’re trying to contribute by doing what we believe in.
WALK WITH US, FOLLOW OUR BLOGThe team on the ground is always made up of a mix of international and local talent. We have embarked on a global journey to discover fresh creative talent in new places and it’s thanks to them that SYOU exists. Right now we are in Colombia, but soon we will be adding more exciting countries to our portfolio.
Colombian Industrial Designer José Argotty, describes himself as an “atypical designer”. After being selected at the SYOU Creative Talent Conference, he joined the SYOU team to co-design new shoes. Argotty’s work is influenced by indigenous communities in the southern region, having worked closely with these cultures and witnessing their craft techniques.
At the age of just nine years old, Juanita Olivera Vélez was given a book by writer Octavio Paz, igniting her love for literature and leading her to becoming a talented writer. Juanita, born in Bogotá, was a finalist in the SYOU Creative Talent Conference (literature category). She is responsible for the poem inside each pair of SYOU.
This 21-year-old illustrator from Bogotá works for some of Colombia’s biggest companies. Being obsessed with drawing, he works in both digital and handmade mediums and is a fan of classical paintings. It’s no wonder that he was crowned winner of the Graphic Design category at the SYOU Talent Creative Conference.
One of our youngest creative talents, is self-taught 19-year-old photographer Diego from Bogotá. He conveys remarkable power with his photos, filling them with such pureness that they would be worthy of any international editorial piece. The jury was so impressed with his work, they just had to crown him winner of photography during the SYOU Creative Talent Conference.
